Die Nebula Awards 2017
N.K. Jemisin gewinnt in der Kategorie bester Roman
Soeben wurden im Rahmen der 52. Annual Nebula Conference in Pittsburgh die Gewinner für den renommierten Nebula Award bekanntgegeben, der von den Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America (SFWA) verliehen wird.
Große Gewinnerin des Abends ist N.K. Jemisin mit dem dritten Band ihrer postapokalyptischen Broken-Earth-Trilogie. Band 1 (The Fifth Season) und Band 2 (The Obelisk Gate) haben bereits den Hugo Award gewonnen und Band 3 ist ebenfalls für den Hugo nominiert. Könnte also gut sein, dass „The Stone Sky“ zu den ganz großen Gewinnern der „Award Season“ gehören wird.
Eine Überraschung gab es in der Kategorie Film, wo sich „Get Out“ von Jordan Peele durchsetzte. Bei den Oscars war Peeles satirische Twilight Zone-Variante noch an Guillermo del Toros „The Shape of Water“ gescheitert.
